Remembering Jan

Remembering Jan

Speaker: Dennis Gallaher

Series: Other

Category: Sunday Morning

When someone has finished well, it's important to remember the life they lived and the memories and fruit they've left behind. This Sunday we gave opportunity for our church to share memories about Jan Gallaher whose impact on our church and God's Kingdom will be felt for years to come.

Jeremiah 29 - God uses a crucible to speak to Jeremiah and Jeremiah comes to his wit's end. He is called the weeping prophet. God uses crucibles to speak to us. Yet He says over and over, "I will, I will, I will . . ."

Pastor Dennis has no argument to God in all the years of Jan's illness; he has no regrets. Why? Because God knows the plans.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

God has plans. He is able to put all my life together. He has a plan. God declares creation and it came to be. When God declares to me, "I have a plan." No one is going to change it.

Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.

Look at any great man in the Bible who didn't have great trials and struggles. They all did.

God says He knows more about me than I will ever know. He also provided a way to bring dreams to life. Recognize that the seed in the ground has to die and then it brings a harvest. God has a plan. He declares it and doesn't ignore our dreams of the future and our hope.

What Bible story or verse helps you face trials and struggles?

What can you share about your own dreams and plans that God has revealed to you?
